After childbirth, we often suffer from back pain.
If left untreated, the pelvic floor muscles can become unbalanced due to the effects of hormones and the reduced function of the lower pelvic muscles, which can lead to chronic back pain and urinary leakage, even through menopause!
In other countries, such as France, pelvic floor muscle rehabilitation is so important that it is 100% covered by public insurance!
Along with using foods such as tumeric, it is recommended to do pelvic floor muscle yoga at the hospital or at home, in order to prevent and care for back pain.
Here are some yoga exercises to tighten the low pelvic muscles that can be done from the first day after childbirthm, introduced by Mayu Tanamoto, a certified maternity yoga instructor and a licensed nurse-midwife in Japan.
